As a photographer, one of the perks for me is the people I meet. The opportunity to interact with some amazing people with equally amazing life stories and moments.
In August of 2017, I received a very heart felt message from Keagan , laying out his intentions to propose to his girlfriend. I am a sucker for surprises and this was right up my alley. We kept in communication as the weeks and months went by, confirming plans and making sure things would go according to plan on the big day. We met at the location to do a walk through and it could be clearly seen how much time and effort he had put into planning the engagement and how much he feels for her.
On the morning for the engagement my team and I arrived on location at Hunte’s Garden to prepare for this momentous occasion. After going through the plan of how we would remain hidden in plain sight, we got set up and awaited their arrival.
Part of the plan to remain incognito became very clear when we enlisted some other sightseers of the Gardens to help us as they pretended to be on a photoshoot of their own. During this time, Keagan, his girlfriend Giselle and some other family members made their way down to the pre-agreed location.
As I pretended to direct the lovely stand-in couple I received the cue from the team and then a vocal Keagan. He stood before Giselle and said a few words then took a knee as he professed his love for her. This entire time she is going through so much emotions and being surprised. He asked her to marry him, she needed a few moments to let her emotions and thoughts align and then, she said yes!
It was an absolute joy to witness their joy and love like this. I live for these moments.
Congratulations to Keagan & Giselle.
